Together with Alex DeSpain, I'm currently designing and creative directing The Artisans Cup, an exhibition of American Bonsai that will elevate our perception of this creative collaboration with nature.
We collaborated with photographer Chris Hornbecker to develop an advertising campaign that juxtaposes natural landscapes and the trees that tell their story. Copywriter and content strategist, Trevor Orton, developed the voice for the event as well as the headlines used for the campaign.
We created a short film with filmmaker Ryan J. Bush that would tell the story of American Bonsai through the experience of world-renowned bonsai artist & educator, Ryan Neil.
The website has existed in multiple iterations to address the evolution of the event in its phases. Currently in development is the website model that will engage with event attendees and the communities of art, design & architecture.
We created a luxe package of printed materials for potential sponsors, including an artist print, notecard, and booklet — all copper foil stamped and embossed, printed on Neenah Eggshell.
Web Design & Development
The Artisans Cup, the premier showcase of American Bonsai, will host its inaugural event at the Portland Art Museum September 25-27, 2015. The event will feature an exclusive collection of trees selected by a jury of bonsai experts, as well as a range of products created by artisans serving the bonsai community. The Artisans Cup will seek to highlight the artists who are leading the way, while simultaneously inspiring a new generation of Bonsai enthusiasts to join the movement.
